| Srimat Vedamarga Pratishtapanacharya | Marga means path. Veda Marga means the Vedic path, i.e. Sri Vaishnavism. Pratishtapana means establishment. Srimad is an honorific meaning holy. “Srimad Vedamarga Pratishtapanacharya” means “the holy Acharya who established the path of the Vedas." Where established really means re-established. In times of confusion where people from other sects were spouting inaccuracies, Adivan Sadagopan re-established the truth. |
| Paramahamsa Parivraajaka | Hamsa means swan. In earlier Yugas, there used to be a species of swan called a Rajahamsa which was capable of drinking milk alone from a mixture of milk and water. So the metaphor of swans is often used by Shastra to describe people who are capable of separating good from bad. Paramahamsa means supreme swan, and it describes the highest, most lofty kind of Sanyasam, the kind practiced by Sri Vaishnava Acharyas. Parivrajaka means wandering around. Sanyasis travel from place to place, they don’t have a permanent home that they live in all year round, instead they travel around out of compassion to get fellow Jivatmas out of Samsara. |
| Ubhaya Vedantacharya | Vedanta means end of the Vedas, i.e. the set of all the Upanishads. Ubhaya means means both. Ubhaya Vedanta means both sets of Upanishads, or you can say the end of both Vedas. That’s because there is both the Sanskrit Vedas and the Tamil Vedas, namely the Naalayira Divya Prabandham. And Nammazhwar’s Thiruvaimozhi plays the same role in the Divya Prabandham that the Upanishads play in the Sanskrit Vedas, namely they’re the most philosophical portion. Ubhaya Vedantacharya means the teacher of both the Upanishads and the Thiruvaimozhi. |
| Sarvatantra Swatantra | Sarvatantra means all branches of knowledge. Svatantra means your own branch of knowledge, i.e. your area of expertise. Sarvatantra Svatantra means “one for whom all branches of knowledge are his own branch of knowledge”, i.e. one whose field of expertise encompasses all fields. Expert on everything |
| Bhagavat Ramanuja Siddhanta Nirdharana Sarvabhouma. | Bhumi means Earth, sarvabhumi means all the Earth, Sarvabhouma means one who has all the Earth, i.e. an emperor. Bhagavad Ramanuja means “holy Ramanujacharya”. Siddhanta means established conclusion or philosophy. Bhagavad Ramanuja Siddhanta is the philosophy firmly established by holy Ramanujacharya, i.e. Sri Vaishnavism. Nirdharana means proving something to be correct. “Bhagavad Ramanuja Siddhanta Nirdharana Sarvabhouma” means “the emperor who proved that the philosophy firmly established by Ramanujacharya is correct.” |
